Meet the MiaMily Plus range

Best for: families travelling with toddlers and young kids. Ideal for: airport travel, family holidays, multi-stop trips. Not ideal for: parents wanting ultra-light minimalist luggage only. Key strength: premium family luggage with genuinely practical features. Trade-off: slightly heavier than standard luggage because of the built-in functionality.

Travelling with kids comes with a lot of moving parts: extra bags, tired toddlers, cramped airport spaces, and the constant juggle between keeping everyone moving and keeping everyone happy. The Plus range is MiaMily's answer to the parts the original did not solve.

What makes the Plus range different

Plenty of ride-on suitcases focus on novelty. The Plus range is built as premium family luggage first, with the child-friendly functionality integrated rather than bolted on. Both models keep the patented built-in seat, the integrated child safety belt, 360° spinner wheels and a telescopic handle with four height settings, then add:

  • Top-opening design. Most suitcases split into two halves. The Plus opens vertically to create one deep, uninterrupted packing space, which is easier in tight hotel rooms and better for bulky items like shoes and jackets.
  • Front-wheel brake. Locks the case in place while your child is seated, or while it doubles as a high chair on the go.
  • Front access pocket. Snacks, toys and essentials without asking your child to get off.
  • Larger waterproof pocket for messes and liquids, and a thermal pocket on the Carry On Plus for bottles.
  • Smart bag hook for hands-free movement through the airport.
  • TSA-approved zip lock and an anti-scratch textured shell.

Carry On Plus vs Check In Plus

Carry On Plus, 43 L, $569. Short trips, carry-on only travel, weekend family getaways, easier airport mobility. Navy Blue and Burgundy Red.

Check In Plus, 77 L, $649. Longer holidays, overseas travel, packing for multiple children. Its seat is also a stable spot to stack extra bags on the way to the accommodation. Navy Blue and Burgundy Red.

Things to consider

  • The built-in seat adds weight compared with standard luggage.
  • Premium functionality comes at a higher price than the originals.
  • Best suited to families who travel regularly or value convenience highly.
Not novelty luggage. A travel system designed around real family needs.
