Basics

What is MiaMily?

MiaMily is a Swiss-designed travel and family lifestyle brand founded in 2014 by parents Alessandro Cereda and Cecilia Tsai. It is best known for ride-on luggage: hard-shell suitcases with a patented built-in seat that a child rides on while a parent pulls. In Australia the range is distributed exclusively by Coolkidz Australia.

Where are MiaMily products designed and made?

All MiaMily products are designed in Switzerland and responsibly assembled in China, with materials, durability and safety standards overseen by MiaMily.

What makes MiaMily luggage different from a normal suitcase?

The built-in seat. It turns the suitcase into a ride-on for kids, a resting seat for adults, a stroller alternative in airports and a hook for your nappy bag. The seat supports up to 100 kg including luggage contents, so it stays useful from toddler to teenager to adult. You also get 360° spinner wheels, a TSA-approved lock, adjustable handle heights, a child safety belt on the Carry On, Check In and Plus models, and a durable polycarbonate hard shell.

Ride-on

Is the ride-on seat safe for children?

Yes, within its limits. The luggage has an aluminium frame rated to 100 kg and a wider base for stability, and the Carry On, Check In, Carry On Plus and Check In Plus include a built-in safety belt to secure your child. Children must be able to sit unassisted and should always be supervised by an adult. Use it on flat surfaces only, never on escalators or stairs.

What age can a child ride on MiaMily luggage?

MiaMily does not set a minimum age; the rule is that the child must be able to sit unassisted, be belted in, and be supervised. Most families use the ride-on from the toddler years. The 100 kg capacity means older kids and adults can sit on it too.

Does the Carry On Pro have a ride-on seat?

The Carry On Pro has a reinforced Sit Ready shell that supports up to 100 kg, so you can sit on it at the gate. It does not include the child seatbelt or the seat-back bag hook of the Carry On, Check In and Plus models, so it suits older kids, teens and adults rather than toddlers.

Can I use the seat as a high chair?

The Carry On Plus is designed so the built-in seat doubles as a high chair on the go, with the wheel brake keeping the case still while your child is seated. Always belt your child in and stay with them.

What happens to the seat when I travel without a child?

It becomes a bag holder. Hook or stack a nappy bag, tote or briefcase on the seat, or sit on it yourself during long waits.

Sizes

What are the dimensions and weight of the Carry On?

Carry On: 51 × 38 × 29 cm including wheels (20 × 14.9 × 11.4 inches), 4.3 kg, 43 litres. It is the same footprint MiaMily describes as fitting most airline overhead compartments.

What are the dimensions and weight of the Check In?

Check In: 66 × 45 × 31 cm including wheels (25.9 × 17.7 × 12.2 inches), 6.5 kg, 77 litres.

Can I bring MiaMily luggage on a plane as cabin baggage?

The Carry On size is designed to fit in most airline overhead compartments. Airline cabin policies and weight limits vary, particularly on Australian domestic carriers, so we recommend confirming your carrier's dimensions before flying. The Check In and Check In Plus are checked luggage.

What are the dimensions of the Plus and Pro models?

Carry On Plus: 51 × 39 × 30 cm, 4.8 kg, 43 litres. Check In Plus: 65.5 × 46 × 33 cm, 5.9 kg, 77 litres. Carry On Pro: 51 × 39 × 23 cm, 3.5 kg, 48 litres, the lightest and slimmest of the range because it has no ride-on seat mechanism. Figures are as published by MiaMily.

How big is the Expandable Backpack?

44 × 31 × 11 cm, expanding to 22 cm deep. That takes it from 15 litres to 30 litres. It is made from 100% recycled polyester with YKK zips and has 11 pockets, including a laptop pocket, a thermal bottle pocket and an anti-theft passport pocket.

Use & care

How do I set the TSA lock?

Your luggage comes preset to 000. Shift the pin inside the lock from A to B, set your new three-digit code, then move the pin back to A. The lock is TSA-approved and does not come with a key; TSA agents can open it with a universal key if inspection is required.

What is the luggage made of?

The suitcases use a polycarbonate hard shell with an anti-scratch texture, a polypropylene built-in seat and a polyester interior lining. The Expandable Backpack is 100% recycled polyester.

How do I clean it?

Wipe the shell with a soft damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners, which can dull the textured finish. Let the interior lining air dry fully before packing.

Where does MiaMily Australia ship?

Wear and tear, cosmetic damage, misuse and airline handling damage are not covered. Claims go through the Coolkidz support portal with proof of purchase.

Which model should I buy?

Carry On for short trips and one rider. Carry On Plus if you fly often with a toddler and want top-opening packing, a brake and a snack pocket. Check In or Check In Plus for longer holidays and more than one child. Carry On Pro for teens and adults who want a light, front-opening case with a gate seat.
